Question: Does anyone know where I can find an online table (or web service) with US Tax rate info for all states?
I’m developing a web application and can’t seem to find a good web service or html table of tax rates I can screen scrape. I can do the programming just fine, I’m just wondering if there is an always current web page or web service I can use for determining the tax rate for any given state.
I thank everyone for their responses, I was not clear enough in my initial question. I was referring to sales tax, my application will be a point of sale type of program, so I want my application to always be up to date with all states sales tax. Thanks again, and if anyone has a link to a sales tax chart, I would love to see it! Thanks for all that have already responded.Greg

Question: First time home buyer: how to get interest payments back monthly instead of once a year?
Hello:
Just about to buy my first home which is very exciting!
Since I’ll be be paying close to $3,000 in interest/$1,000 in real estate taxes a month and I would like to keep my monthly income as high as possible I would like to tweak the W-4 withholding allowance so less taxes are being withheld. There are a number of calculators on the internet, but none of them seem to be applicable specially for mortgage interest (and real estate taxes).How can I go about this?

Answer: see your personal director where you work and fill out a new W-4 withholding form. There is a worksheet to help you figure out how much to withhold.
If I remember, each one is worth $25 less withheld and you can claim up to 99. However, remember, if you underestimate your tax withholding, the IRS can fine you.

Question: are online tutoring companies taxed ?
The knowledge process outsourcing is the fore running field now, do these companies which are set up in India taxed? if so how much ? They come under education so they wont be taxed is this true? Payments for their services come in foreign currency preferably US $ so do they have to register for taking foreign currency. I have to provide this information in my report so everybody please help.
Answer: whether its taxable under Income tax or service tax is purely depends upon the nature and scope of the activities
The activity can be subject to service tax under notified taxable service of Online Data access & retreival service.
Income will be subject to income tax.
If KPO is in SEZ and its exporting the services then it can claim exemption.
There is no exemption for education under the tax laws.
In case of Not-for profit company or sec 25 company or charitable institutions it may be exempted to certain limit.
