Question: Where can I file for a “Doing Business As” form (DBA)?
Hey guy,
I have no business license, and I don’t have a Tax ID, but I heard I can still file for a DBA form. My aim is to at least have a professional business name I can use when I fill out forms for affiliates, and other such business matters. I’m from NYC, where can I fill out a DBA form? And if I’m wrong about what I’ve said, please correct me.
Thanks.
Answer: In NY, dba certs are filed with the County Clerk’s office.

Professional Tax Software Ratings
The apartment leasing has becoming a huge business in many states, and Apartment Ratings has become a dominant website influencing many renters around the country. Most of the time you will come across the site online via one of the famous search engines. After surfing the site for a few minutes you may realize that thousands of apartments have rankings and users even place comments and reviews about the apartment communities.
At first glance, this seems very helpful for those searching for an apartment, as you can compare properties against each other and look for cons and pros. However, after looking at the site in a bit more detail there is a reason for some pause.
What exactly is it and can it be trusted?
At first glance it seems like a great site but there are a few details that must be noted. Anyone with a valid email address can login and begin commenting regarding certain properties. Although many reviews are probably legitimate, what is to stop someone from providing a false review.
If you really were deciding between a few apartment communities, there are probably better methods to start to rule out communities. Many web-surfers give automatic credibility to apartmentratings.com. But maybe they should rethink everything they do read.
If an apartment community has been open for 5 years and contains around 250 total apartment homes and has 4 negative reviews, is that really reason to rule out a property. Just think how many people have signed leases at the community since its grand opening. Maybe only 4 negative reviews would be a positive sign that the apartment community should be recommended.
What else does it do?
If you surf around the site eventually you will come across a form that states someone will contact you if you need assistance. Most renters probably believe that an individual from apartment ratings will be contacting them. The truth is they sell many of their leads to apartment locators who are not affiliated with apartment ratings. Many people probably feel that the individual contacting them is aware of the negative reviews and positive reviews and can better assist them in their search. In the end apartment ratings is about making money and not so much about your apartment leasing needs.
Although Apartment Ratings is a large site don’t trust everything you read on the Internet. Do enough research and you will be able to find a great apartment.
