Question: When will I get my tax rebate if I used Turbo Tax online to file my tax return?

I used turbo tax online to file my taxes and chose to direct deposit, but the deposit went to Santa Clara Bank then to my account……when sould I expect my rebate?
My social ends in 02, so I was expecting it today, May 2nd, but it has not been deposited yet.

Answer: When the IRS deposited your refund, they deposited into the Santa Clara Bank as you noted, then that bank transferred it to your bank account, after deducting any applicable fees. That means the IRS has the Santa Clara Bank’s info, not yours, so you won’t get your rebate via direct deposit. You’ll get a paper check mailed to you.

Answer: Yes you’re legally required to get a sales tax license from CA, collect the tax and remit it to CA.

If you don’t, when you get caught, you’ll have to pay the sales tax out of your own pocket that you should have collected, plus interest and penalties. Don’t go there.

I have an online business working from Argentina (South Amercia) to Australia and England offering a service of tech support online. I will like to offer this service in the USA as well. I am currently starting up an internet business. I know that there are a lot of risks when working online, especially in the area of fraud and people using stolen CC details etc.

Due to these risks I am going to signup for a High Risk Merchant Account.

This will be more leniant in the way of chargebacks and my funds wont simply get frozen if I get a few chargebacks unlike banks within the UK where there are close to none High Risk Merchant Accounts.

Is it legal to have an offshore merchant account within tax laws and simply the case of having the account?

Answer: I don’t know this type of account but it is certainly lawful to have any type of account you want, wherever you want it. Any profits in that bank account need to be included in your business accounts for tax purposes, of course.

I try to do the first step on the online Tax Return and every time it says : please amend the post code.
I used to live in the UK but now I live in France and my address which I used for another Tax Revenue a year ago is not working. even when I tried my old post-code from England it still displayed the same message. I deleted the History and the Cookies and it is still doing it. The help-line is busy and they are constantly cutting me off plus calling them is costing me a fortune. What should I do?
