Question: Do I need to file taxes for 2008?

I was a household employee for 2008 making 3900.. which i thought was under the table and now the lady i worked for is claiming this income on her taxes.. as childcare. She didnt take out any taxes when she paid weekly paychecks.

Answer: If you provided the childcare in her home, she was required by Law to with hold taxes from your pay check. Also, she is responsible for 6.25% fica (Employers Portion) and with holding for Medicare.

You still owe the tax, but she is in violation of IRS laws.
