Question: Income Tax Refund Direct Deposit?

I have a question regarding Electronic Filing of your Income Taxes. If you have received a verification thru a text message, that the IRS has received and accepted your return. Is there any reason that they would hold your refund or deny Direct Deposit into your account? Especially since there are no outstanding loans or debts by the person that have to do with the government.

But you have been on a repayment plan for a few years and have never missed a payment? Can they all of a sudden demand the balance and take your refund away?
I have never heard of this happening, but with how crazy things are, you never know.

Answer: If you elected Direct Deposit and your return has been processed with no errors then you should receive your tax refund. If you do not have any offsets on your refund, they will give you your refund. If you have been making payments towards a debt and they have not taken your tax refund in the past then they will not take it this time. As far as the IRS DD schedule goes, a lot of people were scheduled to receive their DD today and they have not received it (myself included) It’s not just one bank but all of the major banks have not received DD from the IRS today.
