Tax Accounting Education

Question: I have an interview with a small accounting firm. What are some good questions to ask my interviewer?
Here are some other details that might be helpful. This is my second interview with this firm. I recently recieved my associates degree in accounting and this is my first job. I have a fair amount of education, but not very much job experience. This company does not have a web site that I know of (I have searched). I do know that they do income taxes, payroll, and financial statements among other things. Their clients range from small to large businesses. Thanks for your suggestions.
Answer: There are several good questions to ask. Inquiring about the company dress code is important, so you don’t show up over or underdressed. This early in the game it’s not a good idea to ask about things like vacations, tuition reimbursement, bonuses, and so on…this can give your interviewer the wrong impression – that you’re more interested in the perks than the work. You could ask how many people hold the same position as you, how many are in your department, how many supervisors/managers you will answer to. If you’re comfortable with it, it’s acceptable to ask why this position is open (or what became of the person who held it before). This will let you know if the company is expanding, or if the person who held the position previously was promoted within the company. Ask how much involvement you will have directly with clients as opposed to your co-workers. Ask if the company participates in any charitable work.
SCENE AT CCSU: Student volunteers prepare to help out at tax season
Two weeks ago, 50 accounting students from Central Connecticut State University’s School of Business, volunteered to spend two days on campus learning how they can assist local families in the preparation of their income tax returns through the VITA (Volunteer Income Tax Assistance) program. Truly, this is a story about good students doing a good thing.

Question: accounting: change in tariff how to recognize?
Hihi, im stuck on a assignment question, it asks for me to prepare a memo to the CFO regarding issues that will affect the companys liquidity (under IFRS)
this issue is that, currently the company is being charged 20% anti-dumping fee to the US, and canada has been negotiating to reduce/cancel this imposed tax, and the appeal is going smoothly, currently, US is allowing the company to export as long as it has money saved up (in case the appeal does not go through)
how should the money saved up be recognized? and it has to be under IFRS
Answer: The money set aside would be “Restricted Cash”. It would be shown on the balance sheet under either current assets or long-term assets, depending on the length of time it is expected to be held.
Govt to notify converged accounting norms for IFRS by December
Corporate Affairs Secretary said the accounting standards are almost ready and all issues, including the tax implications for the convergence, will also be resolved.
