Question: Does anyone know how much seasonal tax preparers earn?

I have heard about a class H&R Block offers and wondered if this was a good course? I need an extra income.

Answer: The pay will probably vary by location. I started last season and was paid $8 per hour. As your tax returns are processed you can go online and watch commissions build up. At the end of the season they cut you a check for your commissions minus the $8 per hour they already paid you. Our office also met all its goals and we received a bonus based on how many hours you worked. You have to do continuing education each year. Once you do 30 hours of ceu you go up a pay step (not sure how much). If you do 60 hours you go up a second pay step. You can do all the ceu’s you want but will only go up 2 pay steps per season. I really enjoyed it. I was in the district office with really experienced people and everyone was nice and really helpful. Always available if you had a question.
