Question: How can I get the cable company to lower my rate?
I am so mad right now. When we movied here and I first signed up for cable, I got just the basic….$45 per month. A little high I thought for just the basic channels, but I was happy with it. Last month they sent a notice saying they were raising the price, and it came out to $61 plus tax. I b*tched about it and was very unhappy but thought I would pay it until i found something better. Now this month the bill is $67 with tax!!! I can’t believe they want me to pay almost $70 for basic cable!!! I do not order pay-per-view movies and have NOT added any services. I am ready to call and cancel right now, but then I remember hearing that you can get your rate lowered if you say the right thing. Any suggestions?
Answer: u would be surprised how many companies will do whatever it takes to keep you as a customer. credit cards will drop an apr, cell providers will drop a rate, cable companies will too, even if it is a temporary fix. i had the same thing happen, and when i threatened to leave because their “competitor” had a rate better (you can lie, they wont know) they knocked 25 bucks off for 6 months…try it!
