Question: My part time 2nd job is a self employed taxi driver, how do I go about declaring my 2nd income?

I took on a 2nd job when my overtime from my main job stopped, how do I go about setting up my tax affairs, ie. who do I speak to? is there anything I can do online? as I am effectively self employed how do I declare my earnings etc..

HM Revenue and Customs will then send you a tax return on which you can decalre your income – it will deal with your empoyed income as well. This return can also be filed on line

Ed and Elaine Brown are two Americans that have had enough of our government enslaving us. They are held up in their house over not paying income tax. Read the news on them to find out more. The Browns simply wanted to see the law that says we need to pay all of these taxes that have been imposed on us. The government responded with the feds and other law enforcement with guns and other weapons to show up at there house to take them down. This is not right. People like them need to start steping up for rights of the people. Including me. I also need to have the same currage that they have but I don’t have it right now. Question: Do I owe any income tax at all?

If I’m self-employed and I only made 5000 dollars last year and the standard deduction is 5300 does that mean I won’t have to pay any income tax at all? I try using all these calculators but they all say that I’ll be getting 300 back and that cant be right.
Let me add some more details here.
I do videography work, it has all been for the same company and they will be sending in a 1099.
I’m 25 years old, unmarried, no dependents.
what form will I have to fill out? a 1040?

Answer: If you’re self employed, you have to pay self-employment taxes. Usually, your employer covers half and takes the other half out of your paycheck. These taxes are non-refundable- you don’t get them back in your refund.

Individuals who are self-employed face different tax situations than those earning wages or drawing a pension, for instance. One of the differences is that you have to file taxes due to the medicare, social security, etc. that you owe if you make anything more than $400.
