I am non Uk Resident i was here for my study and i have worked here for 2 years as well.So Now i am Leaving UK some of my friends told me that i can claim the tax return if i am leaving permanent.
But the problem is when i started my work i did’nt had my NI number and they were deducting my tax with the temporary Ni Number which was fareable tax.then i left that job and when i started next job i have provided them my Own NI number and now the Question is could i get back my tax with both NI numbers?Coz if i show one so i can claim that one but not other.
Answer: Possibly, depends on your country of origin and if you are eligible for any UK tax allowances.
If you haven’t already done so, you should complete form P86 to establish your residency from when you came to the UK. You should also complete form P91 to show your employment history for the time you were here. If you know date of leaving, you can do form P85. That should go to tax office with the form P45 employer will give you when you leave job.
So send tax office forms P86, P85, P91, last form P45, plus any other forms P45 or P60. Also quote both your temporary and correct National Insurance numbers. It is possible with two references there are two records for you. Forms can be downloaded from http://www.hmrc.gov.uk , then put forms in search engine.
If any repayment is made after you leave UK, it has to be in Sterling, and you are responsible for any currency conversion charges.
