Question: How do I add another W-2 to a tax form i sent in last year (2007 work year)?
I received a W-2 late in the year last year (around may) and i tried lumping it in with this years online tax return (2008) and i was unable to do so. If you know how to solve this problem it would also help if you could tell me where on an online tax form i could input the information.
Answer: You’ll have to file a revised form for 2007 (a form 1040-X).
You can never “lump in” one year’s income with another year’s. Every tax year’s income and deductions must be reported on that proper year’s form.
