why income tax is good

Question: Which book should I read to get a good understanding of US Income Tax laws?

I am not from USA. But I’m interested in reading about the Taxation process (income tax) for individuals in USA. Can somebody suggest a good book for that.
Thanks

Answer: JK Lasser has some good material. a plus for Lasser is that it is exhautive when you need to know income tax laws for individuals. Another pretty good one is Kiplinger. If you subscribe to the EA journal put out by the National Association of Enrolled Agents, you will get in-depth knowledge of particular situations and up-to-date. It costs to join, but if you pay, the Tax Research service will enable you to find the answer to any question you have:

Their seminars are superb and quite well organized but going that route will take a long time to get really familiar with all that you want to become familiar with. However, the enrolled agents there will be able to get you more information regarding good sources. The NAEA in Washington, DC may even have their own library of the IRC.

The problem is that there are good sources out there, but a lot are outdated. Accountant’s Education Services has a good self-study program.

I’ve seen some good sources that do not have an exhaustive study of the Federal income tax laws now. You can read the Internal Revenue Code {IRC} at some public libraries, but they copies they have are five years dated or longer. You may have to go to the Library of Congress.

The good, the bad and the ugly of 2009

The year 2009 may not be looked fondly upon by many on the Main Line as it acted as a reminder that prosperity is not a constant, even here.
