Income Tax Preparers Course
Question: What kind of jobs (paid) can you get relating to accounting while pursuing for a BBA in Accounting?
I am currently a sophmore and just finished an introductory course in Accounting.
I am training and reading info on the current tax laws to volunteer as a tax preparer for a non-profit organization for low-income individuals.
However I am wondering with the knowledge I receive in Preparing Tax Returns, if I could land a paid job while I am in school to pay for college expenses and etc.
I have researched H&R block and those Tax Services but I don’t know if the training I have to go thru is worth my time.
If you have any ideas please let me know.
Answer: Being a paid preparer for H&R Block or any one of the large tax preparation firms is good training for you. It reinforces a lot of what you have learned, and will be learning in the classroom. I think it’s a good idea.

Tax Accounting In Mergers And Acquisitions
Law and Accounting firms network is a membership organization consisting of independent law & accounting firms that are casually associated to one another with the objective of serving one another’s customers where the individual firms are not allowable to practice or do not have their own physical offices.
There are no hard and fast rules, networks tend to consist of small to medium-sized firms, or at least firms that focus on a particular geographic area. Networks often offer their members exclusivity, meaning that another firm can not be confesses on their territory. Such an arrangement ensures maximum referral opportunities and minimal conflicts of interest. As networks are membership organizations, firms are free to leave the organization by not renewing their membership at the end of the year. And by the same, networks are often able to terminate the membership of any member that is involved in mismanagement or unable to meet the service standards expected.

Income Tax Self Employed Canada

Question: Question about CANADA self-employment & income tax!?
I am sick of reading and going through tons of forms and websites, so if someone can give me a more realistic answer I would appreciate it.
I have just started a new job (SELF-EMPLOYED) doing translations and I will be earning about 3000 dollars a month.Could some one tell me how much in all (maybe a percentage) of my monthly earnings I would have to pay as income tax, CPP, EI and the likes?
I live in Halifax, Nova Scotia.
Thanks!
Answer: EI – you’re EI exempt since you’re self employed, so you don’t pay EI, nor are you entitled to claim EI.
CPP – you have to remit 9.9% of your income to the CRA for CPP. The first $3,500 of income you earn is CPP-free and everything from $3,500.01 to $44,900 is subject to the 9.9% tax
Finally income tax is remitted using the formules laid out by the CRA. Probably the easiest way to calculate it is from the CRA’s calculator at http://www.cra-arc.gc.ca/eservices/tax/business/pdoc-e.html
Also you’re going to have to register your self-employed business with the CRA.
