Question: Is there any way I could work as a tax lawyer but not work for a big business/corporation?
I am currently majoring in accounting and am going to law school to become a tax lawyer. But I would like to return to my hometown after completing school – my town has about 40-50,000 people. I would obviously not be able to work for a big business/corporation in a town like that, but I still would like to be a tax lawyer.
Advice?
Answer: I heard a lot of this kind of transactional stuff is being outsourced to India….you could set up yourself as an expert on the net, and then funnel the routine stuff to Indian partners, and do the high value added stuff yourself.
Then you can work from anywhere and do work for anyplace you are licensed to practice.
I think this is the future for your profession if it is not already the present.
