S.F. tax preparers praise new rules

Internal Revenue Service plans to regulate paid tax preparers and require them to pass competency tests are causing few ripples among preparers in Sioux Falls. IRS Commissioner Doug Shulman unveiled the regulations Monday, saying his agency is “setting a higher standard for the entire tax preparer community.” Specifically, Shulman said the new regulations would require:
