Income Tax Online Gov

Question: How do you file income from an employer that first paid you in cashier checks no taxes taken out.?
I worked with an employer for two months doing daycare. She was awaiting her 501 c 3 gov grant id #. She paid me my first income in cashier checks without taking taxes out. How do I go about filing this income on my taxes. I am doing them myself online. I have received my w-2 from her but this income is not on there. What should I do
Answer: If you have the stubs, use that or use your bank records if you deposited them into your account.
If no taxes were taken out then youre going to have to pay for those two months, but probably shouldnt be too much or it might just even out if your getting money back from another job.

Tax Preparation Insurance

Question: Is there any way to recover an error that the accountant made on taxes filed. E&O insurance maybe?
Upon my divorce, my ex had a substantial tax debt. I have been granted “innocent spouse” relief but, am still being held responsible for about $5,000 worth of a $10,000 mistake on the accountants part in preparation. Yes, I signed them..actually 2 years of returns in order to complete our divorce mediation. My ex did pay a substantial fee for the preparation. Is there any way that I can recover this mistake from the accountant. Do they have insurance for this type of situation? What can I do? Are there any options?
In addition, it was a calculation mistake..all of the items were there, nothing left out.. Calculation was done incorrectly.
Signed Feb of 2006 for the previous 2 yrs. What would you think the penalties and interest would be? Again, I can approach her for those fees?
Answer: First be sure that it is a mistake. there are items on a return that don’t get counted at face value, only a portion of some items can be entered on the return in some spots
If it is a mistake, file amended returns, as other responders have mentioned, to correct the tax situation.
…unless you are asking if you have grounds to sue her? Did you want to correct the situation with the IRS/taxing authority or did you want to go after her?

Uk Tax Return From Australia

Question: Immigrants and the Benefits System.?
Australia has the system that skilled overseas workers are welcome but they cannot access the public purse.
This means that they pay all due taxes on their income but as soon as they are unable to work for whatever reason they are returned to their country of origin.
If we had the same system in the UK would this help to address the rising tide of hostility against immigrants in the UK?
Knownow
Australian friends and others who considered moving to Australia all say the same thing. Immigrants cannot access the public purse. The only exception is emergency treatment at A&E. I have never been to Australia I am merely expressing their stated opinion on the benefits system there.
Answer: most definitely!
